About RGS High School

The people, values and vision behind education in Churchu.

Our story

Growing opportunity through education

R.G.S. +2 High School is a co-educational school in Churchu, Hazaribag, teaching children from Nursery to Class XII.

The school was established to give local families access to a complete, well-rounded education close to home, without children having to travel to distant towns. It brings together academic learning, creativity and personal growth, and prepares students for further study, work and responsible citizenship.

Today the campus includes classrooms, a science laboratory, a library, a computer lab and a large open ground used for assembly, sport and celebrations.

Founding story

Chandradev Sharma

RGS High School was founded by Chandradev Sharma. After building a business career in Singapore, he chose to direct his resources towards education in India, and towards Churchu in particular.

His decision reflects a simple conviction: that talent exists in every village, and what children need is the opportunity to develop it. The school continues to grow on that foundation.

Our people

The pillars of RGS

Our teachers and staff are at the heart of the school. They lead lessons, guide assemblies, organise events and know their students as individuals.

On Independence Day 2025 the school honoured its teaching team as “The Pillars of RGS High School”, a recognition of the patience, passion and purpose they bring to every class.
